Health Benefit Exchange Regional Advisory Committees

The New York Health Benefit Exchange has established five Regional Advisory Committees pursuant to Governor Cuomo's Executive Order No. 42 to provide advice and make recommendations on the establishment and operation of the Exchange, including recommendations about relevant regional factors. The five Committees represent the following regions of the state:

  • Western NY
  • Central NY/Finger Lakes
  • Capital District/Mid-Hudson/Northern NY
  • New York City/Metro
  • Long Island

Each committee is comprised of representatives of consumers, small business, health care providers, insurance agents and brokers, labor organizations and other stakeholders.

November 29, 2012 Exchange Regional Advisory Committee Joint Meeting

The next Regional Advisory Committee meeting will be held in Albany on November 29 and will focus on the small business (SHOP) Exchange. This meeting will feature a presentation highlighting findings of research conducted by KPMG (who have been retained by New York State to assist the Exchange's analysis and decision making related to the design and operation of the SHOP Exchange) and discussion with KPMG and Exchange staff. Remote participation via webcast and conference call is available for this meeting. In-person attendees and remote participants are asked to register here.

November 2012 Exchange Regional Advisory Committee Webinar

This webinar will feature an online demonstration of Enroll UX 2014. A collaborative effort funded by eight national and state health foundations, Enroll UX 2014 establishes a new standard for public and private health insurance enrollment and provides a design prototype and a design reference guide for state health insurance exchange websites. New York, along with ten states and the federal government, participated in this collaborative effort, and it is available for every health insurance exchange to tailor and use in its operations. Design elements from the UX 2014 project will inform New York's Health Benefit Exchange website. (Additional information about the Enroll UX 2014 project is available at www.ux2014.org.)

The webinar will offer an in depth look at the design elements of the UX 2014 prototype. Two sessions of this webinar will be held, but the content will be the same in both sessions. The webinar times are as follows:
